Privacy Policy

Find My Local Pros is a directory that helps homeowners find and contact local service pros directly. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

From businesses (vendors):

• Account details: your name, email address and password (stored securely, never readable by us).
• Business profile details: business name, trades, description, phone, email, website, address, service areas, hours, photos and logo.
• Documents you upload to verify or claim a business. These are private and only seen by our admin team.
• Public business information from permitted sources, such as state licensing records, open data, or details a business publishes on its own website.

From homeowners and visitors:

• Service requests and messages you send to a business: your name, contact details and the message itself.
• Reviews you leave, including your name as shown and your comments.
• Messages sent through our Contact page.
• Anonymous usage information: pages viewed, searches made, device type, general region (from your time zone) and where you came from. We do not store your IP address with this data.

How we use it

• Listings: business profile details are shown publicly so homeowners can find and contact the business. Private documents and admin notes are never shown.
• Service requests: your request is passed to the business you chose, so they can reply to you. We do not sell your details or pass them to other businesses.
• Reviews: reviews are checked by our team before they appear on a business profile. Published reviews are public and show the name you provided.
• Emails: we send account, claim, review and request notifications. We do not send marketing emails without asking.
• Improving the site: anonymous usage totals help us see which pages and searches are useful.

We never sell personal information.

Cookies and similar storage

We use small amounts of browser storage to keep you signed in and to count a visit as one visit. The visit code is random, is not linked to your name, and is cleared when you close the browser tab. We do not use advertising cookies.

How long we keep information

• Business profiles stay listed while the business is active, unless removal is requested.
• Service requests and messages are kept for up to 2 years so businesses can refer back to them, then deleted.
• Anonymous usage data is kept for up to 2 years.
• Records of admin actions may be kept longer where needed for safety, fraud prevention or legal reasons.

Your choices: removal and corrections

You can ask us at any time to correct your information, delete your account, or remove a business listing or a review about you. Business owners can edit most details from their dashboard. For anything else, send a request through our Contact page and we will respond within 30 days. If a listing is removed at the owner's request, we keep a minimal note so it is not re-added by a future import.

Security

Information is stored with a secure hosting provider. Access to private information is limited to the account owner and our admin team.

Children

This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
